Ontario’s Turkey Season Opens Today
Spring turkey hunting season opens in Ontario today, April 25th, and runs until May 31st.
During the spring season, both resident and non-resident hunters may purchase up to two (2) tags for bearded turkeys. Turkeys may not be taken on the same date. Hunting is restricted to 1/2 hour before sunrise until 7:00 pm for spring.
To qualify to hunt, you must have a valid Outdoors Card with a small game licence on the back, spring wild turkey tag, and if gun hunting, a valid PAL.
You must also be in the appropriate WMU (wildlife management unit). Spring turkey hunting is permitted only in WMU’s 36, 42, 45, 46–50, 53–65, 66A, 67–82, 83A, 84–95. These areas generally encompass most of Southern and Southwestern Ontario.
